Founded in 2013 by President/Principal Engineer Jason A. Matteo, PE, CFM, Matteo Engineering Consultants (MEC) is a small civil/environmental engineering consulting firm in southeast Michigan that specializes in water distribution/transmission, wastewater conveyance/storage, and water resources projects. A privately owned company, MEC offers professional engineering services to public and private clients in Michigan and in other states. We partner with municipalities, other civil engineering firms, law firms, construction contractors, and land developers.

Our firm consists of a team of several licensed professional engineers, staff engineers, CAD designers, construction management staff, technicians, and other professionals. We serve our clients without layered management structures, as our professionals that are responsible for project management, quality control, and client coordination are also in charge of technical project execution.

Jason is an accomplished water resources and water/wastewater engineer. With over 26 years of civil/environmental engineering experience, he is a recognized expert in stormwater/floodplain management, wastewater collection system modeling and design, water resources analysis and design, and water distribution computer modeling. Jason has served as an expert witness on a wide range of cases. Over the years, he has developed a reputation in the industry for bringing a proficient technical background, strong organizational and communication abilities, and an unmatched level of dedication.

Jason earned a B.S. in Biosystems Engineering from Michigan State University and a M.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Wayne State University and has been a registered Professional Engineer and Certified Floodplain Manager for over 22 years.
